Kennel Free dog boarding and day camp in Renton
About us
We have a true passion for dogs.
Our goal is to improve the lives of dogs and their owners in all situations. When you see in a customer’s eyes the look they get when they really understand that we care about their pets just the way they do - when they really know that it’s true - well that’s a feeling that’s hard to describe. It’s the combination of immense trust and honorable service that makes us so proud of what we do.
Meet the OWNER
Laurie Cox
Laurie earned her Certificate of Canine Science from the Northwest School of Canine Studies in 2012. She started the program during her 4th year in business as See Spot Run where she took groups of dogs to the off leash park. Later that year, Laurie purchased 25 acres in SE Renton and rebranded as Unleashed Dog Camp, hired her first employees and added overnight boarding to her outdoor day camp program. In September of 2020, she took over a dog training and small dog day care business in West Seattle, rebranded as West Seattle Wonder Dogs and started teaching puppy classes non stop to meet the needs of all the new puppy owners during the pandemic. Though most of her time is spent behind the scenes, she always makes time to walk in the woods with the dogs at Unleashed or to stop in to play with the puppies at Wonder Dogs.

The benefits of UNLEASHED BOARDING
We adhere to a positive dog handling and training philosophy, using only positive reinforcement when interacting with your dogs. Our owner is a certified dog trainer who feels passionately that fear, pain and punishment is not ever needed to train or manage dogs.
Some day cares have up to 40 dogs per human, which can result in unsafe and stressful environments. We prioritize maintaining smaller than average dog-to-staff ratios at a maximum of 15 dogs per human.
Rest assured that your dog is in the hands of well-qualified, experienced, and thoroughly trained dog lovers. All of our staff complete courses on dog behavior and managing safe group play using methods that reduce stress, build trust and help your dog have a great time at camp.
Because of our smaller ratios and tight-knit client and staff relationships, we're able to get to know each dog very well and can tailor the day based on each dog’s unique needs.
Our unique outdoor setting allows dogs to be their natural selves. Whether they love to zoom around like no one is watching or perch at the top of a hill and "people" watch all day, your dog has the space to do what feels good to them.
